Sending 33 athletes to the Area Track Meet on Friday at Little Elm ISD Athletic Complex, 10 Redhawks track and field competitors advance to the UIL 5A Region II meet at UT-Arlington Friday and Saturday.

“I feel really good,” sophomore Sofia Golladay said.  “I feel like all the effort and work I put in really paid off, and it showed me that you can do anything that you put your mind to. I’m super excited to be heading to regionals.”

High jump competitor Mackenzie Raymond is already looking to improve before the regional meet.

“I was very shocked that I qualified because there was so much competition,” Raymond said. “I definitely need to work on being explosive on the final step of my approach. I also need to work on holding my form over the bar and making sure to not kick too early.”
