With only two invitationals left until Districts, the cross country team will head to Southlake for the Southlake Invitational. The team will hope to continue to improve before Districts.

With only two meets before the District 10-5A meet on Oct. 12, the cross country team is set to compete in the Southlake Invitational on Saturday at 8:00 a.m.

“With all invitational meets, I’m just looking for athletes to grow as competitors, allow the work in practice to come to fruition in a competition setting, and above all have some fun,” coach Khera Vay said.

With only two invitational meets left, senior Kayla Winter is beginning to prepare for the District 10-5A meet.

“I feel like the district meet came really fast this year, but I think we have the ability to win in all divisions again,” Winter said. “We’ve been preparing by trying to minimize injuries and doing a variety of workouts, like running, swimming, biking, and yoga.”

As for this meet, Winter is wanting to improve her time.

“I’m hoping to run a sub 21 minute race and for us to place well as a team at this meet,” Winter said.
