Redhawk volleyball could not be contained, dominating The Colony in a 3-0 sweep. With the win, the team advances to their second round of districts against Hillcrest.

Beating The Colony in their first round of UIL 5A playoffs on Monday, the Redhawks volleyball earned the title of Bi-District champions and advanced to the second round.

“We had a good, confident mindset going in and we served really well,” head coach Eighmy Dobbins said. “I am super proud of them for staying focused and winning in three.”

The team flew over the Cougars in a 3-0 sweep, bringing confidence to junior Brooklyn Brown.

“Getting a sweep in our first playoff game definitely gives us confidence as we continue onto harder teams,” Brown said. “We’ll build on this confidence hopefully winning our next game against Hillcrest.”

Playing Hillcrest in the next round, Brown says there are still things the group must work on.

“We could still need to work on our blocking a little,” she said. “But, as long as we fix that we should be good for the next game.”
