As preparation for next year begins, upcoming dual credit students are applying and paying for their 2024-2025 school year classes.
The dual credit application deadline has passed and the new deadline for payment is here.
According to counselor Lanae Rainey, dual credit is a great opportunity for students and allows them to witness a college class setting.
“I think dual credit is a great opportunity for students,” Rainey said. “It allows them to explore that real life college setting with professors and allows them to get the college credits that are hopefully transferable to most universities.”
Many students take dual credit classes to become familiar with college-level course material, and get learning experiences not seen in regular classes.
“Next year I’m going to be a senior and I obviously want more preparation for college.” junior Ram Pillai said. “Again, like building off what I did this year and like again, having that experience with like college professors and that kind of unique learning environment I think is really helpful just for my learning.”
Like college, however, students have to pay for their semesters at a lower price. Students can go to collin college’s website Workday, with payment due Wednesday at 7 p.m.
