The school year may be winding down, but the testing season is just beginning as STAAR testing begins Tuesday with English I followed by English II on Thursday. While most staff members are involved in testing in one way or another, only freshmen and sophomores will have a different schedule this week.

“Students who are not taking a test, that would be sophomores, juniors and seniors on Tuesday and freshman juniors and seniors on Thursday, they should proceed with their day as normal,” assistant principal Kristen Sommers said.

Testing locations are posted in the rotunda with freshmen asked to be at their testing site by 8:45 a.m. Tuesday. The same goes for sophomores on Thursday.

For other grade levels, the most noticeable disruption will be how they get around campus on Tuesday and Thursday.

“Testing will be going on in the gyms,” Sommers said. “So you’ll have to go down the CTE and fine arts hallways and don’t go through the main hallway so you might want to get here just a minute earlier during those days so you can make the few extra steps to get around.”
