Boys’ golf tees off at the Lovejoy Fall Classic on Friday and Saturday at the Waters Creek Golf Course, where they aim for top finishes.

“We have been practicing as usual and working on some specific issues like putting and chipping, but the boys have been also working on full swings to stay crisp,” head coach Shannon Glidwell said. “We will be taking some younger players to this tournament, so we expect to see some growth and experience, especially for the ones who will make their debut.”

According to sophomore Brody Batjer, the team has been preparing physically but also mentally for Friday.

“We have been going to practice every day we’re focusing on nutrition and working out and going to the gym to hopefully stay fit,” Batjer said. “Mentally, we’re trying to stay focused and prepare for the season, because we still have a couple tournaments left with district.”
