Wingspan: How does it feel to advance to Regionals?

Long: “It feels really good because it’s my first year of playing high school tennis and I was pretty successful. I’m excited because I don’t really know how it’s going to turn out but it’s going to be good competition.”

Wingspan: How tough is the North Texas area for tennis?

Long: “I’m not really sure yet because I’m new to Frisco, but so far at Districts it was pretty tough. In the finals, the girl I played was really good and she was new too. It will be fun just learning new things about the North Texas area.”

Wingspan: What do you think your prospects are for making State?

Long: “Again, I don’t really know but it’s expected of me to make State, so I’m just going to try really hard. I think it looks good.”

Wingspan: How different is spring tennis from fall tennis?

Wingspan: How much time a day do you devote to tennis?

Long: “Two to three hours a day, usually on the weekdays.”

Wingspan: What’s the appeal of tennis to you?

Long: “I just like it because it’s a physical game as well as a mental game, and it’s just very hard to endure physically.”

Wingspan: Are you a pro tennis fan? Why or why not?

Long: “Yeah. It’s just good to watch professionals and it’s fun because they’re so skilled.”

Wingspan: If you could play any pro tennis player ever, who would it be?

Long: “Serena Williams.”

Wingspan: How do you balance school and tennis?

Long: “It’s honestly really hard right now because I’m not used to it, and it’s my junior year so it’s a lot of work. I don’t know how I balance it, I’m honestly not balancing it that well.”
