Wingspan: What position do you play and how do you contribute?
Schurr: “I play left field from time to time, but I mostly relief pitch, basically what that means is whenever the starting pitcher gets tired or has a bad outing they will go to a relief pitcher for the in between innings.”
Wingspan: Who/what is your inspiration for baseball?
Schurr: “My inspiration for baseball has always been Mike Trout, I grew up watching him and wanted to be him when I was older.”
Wingspan: What are you most excited for this season?
Schurr: “I am most excited for district, and getting to play with the guys for one more year before my senior year is over.”
Wingspan: What does your practice routine look like?
Schurr: “Practice usually starts with a dynamic/warmup, then some throwing, and after that we work on defense, or go through hitting rotations and once we are finished we go and lift.”
Wingspan: What advice would you give to someone who is thinking of playing baseball?
Schurr: “Just go 100% effort every time on everything you do.”
Wingspan: Do you plan to continue your baseball career after high school?
Schurr: “While I don’t wish to pursue college baseball, I still wish to stay in the sports field.”
Wingspan: How do you stay in a good mindset after a rough match?
Schurr: “People do different things to stay in a good mindset, but for me personally I love listening to music after games, especially losses as it just helps me calm down and regain a good headspace.”
