
Wingspan: Why did you join track?
Ross: “I joined track because my older sister was in it, so I kind of wanted to follow in her footsteps.”
Wingspan: Who is your biggest supporter?
Ross: “My biggest supporters are my sisters who I run track with because they push me to be better.”
Wingspan: What’s your favorite part about track?
Ross: “My favorite part about track is definitely the people because they’re all very encouraging and in general great to be around.”
Wingspan: What’s your goal for this season?
Ross: “My ultimate goal for this season is for our 4×400 meter relay to qualify for state championships in Austin.”
Wingspan: What advice would you give someone who is planning to join track?
Ross: “The best advice I would give to someone who’s interested in track is to have fun, because even though there may be days where you’re feeling discouraged, it is important that you’re enjoying yourself with your teammates.”
Wingspan: What’s your biggest takeaway from high school track?
Ross: “My biggest takeaway from track is that effort brings success. If you show up to practice and put in the work everyday, you’ll find that hard work does pay off.”
Wingspan: How do you stay in a good mindset after a rough track meet?
Ross: “After a rough track meet, I stay in a good mindset by surrounding myself with my teammates because they’re a positive influence and they always uplift me even after a poor performance.”
