Against a field of 80 schools, the swim and dive team traveled to Austin to compete at the UIL 5A State Championships. The boys team placed 18th overall and the girls placed 26th overall.
According to head coach Zachariah Gnoza, despite the tough competition, the team’s main goal was keeping a strong mindset.
“The meet went well,” Gnoza said. “We qualified both girl relays and all three boys relays back to finals. We knew where we were sitting going into the meet so just keeping a positive mindset and giving it our all both days was the goal.”
