The Redhawks golf team competed in the 2023 Prowl Preview at West Ridge on Monday and saw a second place finish from the girls and a fourth from the boys, along with several top individual finishes.

“The girls team did very well, we have not had all of them together since February, so this is our first time to get everybody back,” head coach Shannon Glidwell. “We have one more week before the district tournament. So it was good to see them play together and play well.”

Placing third in the tournament, junior Ashley Zhang believes she could have secured the first place standing if she did not get too comfortable.

“I was not too happy with myself to be honest,” Zhang said. “I was in first and leading first for more than half the round and I think I let that get to my head. I’ve been in the golf game for three years now so I should’ve handled that pressure better. Even though the conditions were rough out there I could’ve done so much better had I not gotten too comfortable with my rank throughout the round.”
