An 11-0 loss to the Walnut Grove Wildcats on Friday night doesn’t have the Redhawks softball team down. “We lost, but it was a good game and we still played strong,” head coach Baylea Higgs said. “I think that heading toward the end of the season this shows that we still have plenty of room to grow.”

With playoff games in sight for the first time in school history, the softball team (6-6) suffered a defeat at The Nest Tuesday night, losing to Lebanon Trail (6-6) 13-0 to finish out district play in 4th place.

“[We] took a tough loss tonight,” head coach Baylea Higgs said. “We need to focus in on offense, string more hits together, make the routine plays on defense and our pitching needs to hit their spots. “

While the loss might have thrown the players and coaches for a bit of a loop, sophomore Madison Terry knows that the sole thing this milestone team can do is improve.

“ [We can] only [go] up from here,” Terry said. “[I’m] forever grateful to experience history with my girls and great coaches.”
