Facets of Faith: hitting the ground running

Faith Brocke
Managing editor Faith Brocke expresses their emotions and experiences in their column, Facets of Faith.

Here we go, Facets of Faith for the last-first time. I’m gonna keep it short but sweet (it’s my new motto, with how much I’ve been trying to stretch myself lately).

It’s weird knowing that this public diary/opinion dump is only getting renewed for one more year, but it’s satisfying knowing that I’m the only one in control of it.

To be honest, it kind of feels like the ground is gonna open from underneath me and swallow me whole.

I’m not stressed yet, but we’ll see.

This year feels good so far—from color guard to personal projects, everything’s shifted into place for now.

That being said, there’s no time to waste. There’s cartoons to obsess over stories to write, and places to go. I’ve got tons of ideas and a lot of room to swim, so I haven’t started drowning in anything yet.

I actually feel prepared to dive into new things, and even more prepared to adapt to them, from new roles, to new people, new classes, and new hobbies. I hope everyone who’s helped this column grow into what it is feel the same way.

Let’s hit the ground running, nine months to go.

(Short and sweet, as promised.)
