I passed my Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) exam!
This exam was definitely a lot harder than the Certified nursing Assistant (CNA) exam I took last semester. Even though I studied and felt pretty prepared, a lot of the questions were really specific and over topics you’d only catch if you were paying close attention to the CCMA modules we had completed.
Regardless, I still passed. Once I get my graduation diploma, I’ll officially be able to use my CCMA license. With my time in the Health Science Clinical Program ending up soon, I’m hoping to use this license to get a medical assistant job at a clinic.
However, as I’m looking for CCMA positions, I’ve found it hard to find jobs. A lot of clinics require me to already have two years of medical assistant experience or have additional certifications. Before, I thought just getting my CCMA license would allow me to immediately qualify for a healthcare job but I’ve realized that a lot of clinics want me to have additional certifications such as phlebotomy.
Right now, I’m applying to a lot of different places and sending my resume to different companies and clinics. Hopefully through that I am able to get a job for some clinical experiences over the summer.
Even though it’s been more challenging than I expected, I’m determined to use this certification and find a job that will help me grow professionally as a healthcare worker.
