Every snack has its variations. There’s different flavors of yogurt, there’s different shapes of mac and cheese, there’s different kinds of Goldfish. However, there is one kind of snack that has the most amazing variations: Oreos.
From golden Oreo-thins to cakesters, they all have specific aspects to them that make them unique and delicious, but still able to live up to the expectations of being an Oreo.
What makes an Oreo an Oreo is the cream in the middle made primarily from sugar, vegetable oils, and soy lecithin paired with the chocolate cookies, however Golden Oreos deserve just as much hype as any other variation of Oreo. Despite the lack of the chocolate flavor, Golden Oreos are equally as delicious as everything else.
Additionally, there are types of Oreos other than the typical cookie you usually think of when you hear “Oreo.” There are Original and Golden Oreo Cakesters which is basically the classic cream in between two pieces of cake rather than being in between the cookies.
There are also different variations of Oreo ice creams. There’s classic cookies & cream, but there are also Oreo ice cream sandwiches as well as Drumstick style ice cream cones with a chocolate cone with cookies and cream ice cream and a shell made of finely crushed Oreo cookies.
Although nothing is going to beat the classic flavor pallet of Oreos, there are also different flavors of Oreos that add a little bit of change. There are peanut butter Oreos, there are birthday cake Oreos, and even more that are in most grocery stores year round, but my personal favorite kind of Oreos are the seasonal ones. There are Oreos with Pop Rocks in them for the Fourth of July season, there are Halloween ones with different colored cream, and there are Christmas ones as well.
Oreos of all shapes, sizes, and flavors should be appreciated. Even though they’re not all the same, they all absolutely belong on the Oreo shelf at the grocery store.
