Refinancing isn’t limited to mortgages and car loans as Frisco ISD recently completed its largest debt refinancing in district history.
In August, Frisco ISD refinanced $209 million of outstanding bonds and reducing the average interest rate from 3.8% to 2.8% which lowers costs but also cut 13 years off the repayment timeline.
According to a FISD news release, the refinancing will help save district taxpayers $93.5 million in interest costs.
