Through renovations, refreshes, and new infrastructure. Frisco ISD has breathed new life into campuses across the district using voter approved funds from 2018. These improvements address technology, security, extracurriculars, and more.
Over the summer, Frisco ISD made some improvements to district campuses, technology, security, and athletics.
The 2024 bond proposals did not pass, so the district used voter approved funds from 2018 to cover changes to technology and campus improvements. However, with this came limitations, as the district did not have as much money as needed to complete every project, meaning FISD needed to prioritize the most important developments.
Since campuses are aging and enrollment has decreased, the district is more focused on maintaining current buildings as opposed to opening new ones. Four campuses and facilities had carpet and paint redone, two campuses received auditorium updates, five now have new boilers or water heaters, and three have updated furniture.
FISD has also made updates to technology. Some of these include new Chromebooks–specifically for rising 9th graders in the 1 For All program and elementary school staff and students–as well as wifi improvements, printer replacements, and new projectors.
Changes were also made to security on some campuses. 49 out of 77 campuses received updated doorbell cameras, meaning the whole district is on the same system now. Some schools also have new cameras.
