Students did not have to make an extra stop for their morning caffeine fix Thursday, as a Dunkin’ Donuts truck parked on campus to hand out free drinks. Students were able to redeem their Hawk Points — earned through the updated reward system — for a coffee or refreshment.
The Hawk Points system is designed to encourage positive behavior and recognize students who demonstrate Redhawk qualities.
Since this was the first event of its kind, Gredig said organizing the visit took significant effort.
“It was all a team of people coming together to put a lot of different pieces in place — from getting the class dojo points together to helping with Dunkin’ Donuts getting here and then all the logistics of having people ready to go,” Gredig said. “All of our teachers had to get all the points in, and then the students had to do what they needed to do so they could get out here.”
In addition to promoting Dunkin’s newest flavors, the event motivated students to continue earning Hawk Points.
“I think it’s a really good system because it adds points to people and it helps you do good,” junior Aryaa Dhakar said. “I think it really motivates students to do better and try to be the best version of themselves so that they can get points and get freebies like this.”
