Students in AP Human Geography are working on a project designed to help students feel better prepared for the next year by including concepts from AP World.
This project is designed to allow students to review important skills they will need for future AP classes.
“Students are preparing for a world by doing the end of the year inquiry which means they are going over certain topics relating to the world,” AP Human Geography teacher Kassidy Scott said. “They are using that to make an addition to one of their grades that we test on in here, so they are researching different types of religions and relationships and how they were able to be brought up to where they were, so they feel prepared for the beginning of a world.”
Besides preparing for next year, the project also gives students an opportunity to improve their grade before the semester ends.
Some students see it as a final chance to show their effort and end the year on a good note.
“Right now in class we’re basically making these posters and presentations to go over kinda like past things that we learned in h-gap,” freshman Aishah Sayyed said. “Specifically, I’m doing IMP and I’m learning how to connect religion to the environment. It’s a really good opportunity because it lets you up your grade a bit before the school year ends and it can help you raise your gpa and just have a better grade overall.”
