Frisco ISD launches new program on education careers

Frisco ISD is hosting an online meeting Thursday at 5:30 p.m. for those interested in learning more about FISD through the FISD Live program. Through this program, the district aims to educate community members and provide guidance regarding careers in FISD.

Frisco ISD (FISD) is launching the first of a series of sessions to expand community access to information about education careers on Thursday from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Over the course of eight monthly sessions – starting in Oct. and running through May – community members from all professional backgrounds are invited to join discussions and Q&A sessions with representatives from the FISD Human Resources and Student Services teams. 

These virtual sessions are designed to answer questions about teaching careers, provide information about various opportunities within the district, and guidance specific to both individuals with degrees and individuals yet to complete their learning journey. In addition to providing information on district careers, the sessions are also open to those interested in enrolling their students in FISD. 

“It’s an easy way to meet people and share information,” director of human resources Kishawna Wiggins said in a FISD news release. “Education is changing, and so is the workforce. Frisco ISD Live gives us a way to answer questions and help people see the many paths available within Frisco ISD.”

At school, she is president of the Youth and Government delegation and captain of the varsity Lincoln-Douglas debate team, and she plays the violin outside of school. In her free time, she enjoys reading, writing, and doing anything artistic. She hopes to pursue a career in law.
