PDA in general makes me feel very uncomfortable, but the school setting makes it even worse.
If you walk in the hallways and see other students engaging in some serious PDA, it’s uncomfortable. Not everyone in the hallways needs to be reminded that two people are dating by seeing them make out in the middle of the school.
Would you want your teacher who decides your grade to walk out into the hall and see you kissing your boyfriend/girlfriend? My guess is NO! So if you don’t want your teacher to see, why would you want other people to?
I get that people may love their partners, but not everyone wants to see it in a public place as boundaries should be kept in mind. The last thing many students want to see when they walk into school is a couple cuddling, and kissing.
Worst of all is when it’s a passing period, the halls are crowded and you can only take one step at a time without being pushed or shoved and you look up and see a PDA couple blocking the hallway. Not only does it make everyone extremely uncomfortable, it also causes an inconvenience to all of the students around you.
PDA to a certain extent is fine, such as a couple holding hands while walking, or hugging in the hallway, but to look over and see two people pressing their foreheads up against each other isn’t school appropriate. It’s not about the affection, but the setting in which it’s taking place.
