Find Your Future night explores HBCUs

Frisco ISD’s Find Your Future night will give juniors, seniors, and their parents the chance to meet with representatives from HBCUs to learn about admissions, scholarships, and academic opportunities. More than a dozen HBCUs are expected to be represented at Lone Star High School on Wednesday.

Historically Black College and University night is coming to Frisco ISD Wednesday. 

Students can meet with HBCU reps, explore programs, and start planning for the future Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lone Star High School for the latest in the district’s find your future series. 

For math teacher Yasmine Secrist, attending an HBCU was a family affair. 

“I chose HBCU because my mom went to an HBCU,” Secrist said. “She went to the same HBCU that I did. So, I would consider it as a legacy at Xavier University, Louisiana so she was my big push to be going to HBCU.”

More than a dozen HBCUs are expected to be represented at Lone Star High School Wednesday.
