Frisco ISD to host Achieve Mentor training on Wednesday

The Achieve Mentoring Program connects caring adults from the Frisco ISD community with students to provide guidance and inspire success in school and in life. The next mentor training will be held Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the FISD Administration Training Rooms, and interested community members can RSVP to attend.

Frisco ISD Achieve Mentoring is a program that aims to develop mentors in the district to help guide students through life and support them through their education and beyond with the next meeting scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday in the Frisco ISD Administration Training Rooms. 

Mentors are adult community volunteers, whether teachers or just residents with Wednesday’s training aiming to educate potential mentors so that they can perform well.

Mentors will match with students through the program, teaching them up during 30-minute sessions held once or twice a week during the student’s school day.

Interested stakeholders are asked to RSVP.

Valerie Nanton is a Junior in her first year of Wingspan. She plays violin in orchestra and also enjoys drawing, writing music or fictional stories, and watching cartoons in her free time. She enjoys meeting new people and is looking forward to that this year!

Christine Han is a senior and this will be her third year on the Wingspan staff. She manages social media for Wingspan and is also a photographer. She will be participating in her 4th year with the CTE Competitive Mock Trial Team. In her free time she likes to work in various women’s rights groups, read books, watch movies, and hang out with her friends. If she’s not too busy, she also likes to bake.
