Teacher of the Year nominees have been announced with teachers Amanda Peters, Christine Rittenhouse, Ashley Worsham, Nicole Nothe, and Simone Symmank in the running for the award. WTV sat down with the candidates to explore their teaching philosophy and reaction to being nominated.

With Friday marking the last day of school, students across campus are already making plans for the summer. Wingspan will also be on summer break and resume posting on Aug. 12.

Students taking courses at the Career and Technical Education Center will see a different flavor of learning for the last three days of the 2025-26 school year. Due to the modified schedule with shortened class times, CTE students will be attending classes through Zomm.

The class of 2026 will officially graduate on Wednesday. With students being required to report to The Nest by 5 p.m., this year's graduation ceremony is set to take place at 8 p.m. at the Comerica Center where students will walk across the stage and later receive their diploma.

With the final days of the school year approaching, all students will have early release on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Students will be released at 1:00 p.m.

Mari Vanacour is a junior and this will be her third year in Wingspan. She enjoys cheer, as well as anchoring for Wingspan TV. In her free time, Mari loves hanging out with her friends and being part of student council.
Sankeertana Malakapalli
Sankeertana Malakapalli, Editor-in-Chief
Sankeertana Malakapalli is a senior in her third and final year in Wingspan. At school, she is president of the Youth and Government delegation and captain of the varsity Lincoln-Douglas debate team, and she plays the violin outside of school. In her free time, she enjoys reading, writing, and doing anything artistic. She hopes to pursue a career in law.
