Changes are coming to the Frisco ISD 2026-27 academic calendar after the Board of Trustees approved next year’s calendar at Monday’s monthly meeting.
The biggest change is that the school year will end on May 14, 2027 which is approximately a week earlier than recent years.
One of the reasons for the changes is the PGA Championship will be held at the PGA Frisco course May 20-23, 2027 which is expected to bring more than 30,000 people per day to Frisco.
To end the school year on May 14, 2027, and meet the state’s instructional time requirement, five minutes will be added to the school day for all grade levels.
The start and end times for the 2026-27 years, which will remain in place after 2026-27, are as follows:
- 7:45 a.m. – 3:10 p.m. for elementary schools
- 8:25 a.m. – 3:50 p.m. for middle schools and Wortham Intermediate School
- 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. for high schools
