Interested students can now apply for Collin EDGE, a partnership between Frisco ISD and Collin College that allows juniors and seniors the chance to take four semesters of college courses while simultaneously earning a high school diploma.
The project-based learning program is being introduced as UNT North Texas NOW!, another 4 semester partnership program between FISD and the University of North Texas, comes to a close.
Classes through Collin EDGE are intended to be small and provide students with what they need with all resources from the college level. Classes will take place from 9 a.m. to noon and 1-4 p.m. Monday through Thursday with no classes on Fridays, similar to dual credit, and will be hosted on Collin College’s Frisco campus.
Tuition is $67 per credit hour, cheaper than traditional 4 year colleges, and the program is set to provide students the full 44 hour full Texas core curriculum while still in high school.
The application window closes on Feb. 12 and more information can be found on the FISD website here.
