With temperatures reaching below freezing and high chances of precipitation on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, snow and ice may be imminent. This forecast has led to a change in schedules across the district.
For varsity basketball player, senior Kai Jackson, the new schedules proved to be a disruption to normal routines.
“I would say it gave us less time to recover,” Jackson said. “We recently just had a game, so it’s only one day in between to recover when we usually have two and [it] messes with the scouting. but we’ve already played this team so [we’re] pretty grateful for that.”
On the academic side, most teachers are waiting to adjust their plans until they know for sure what happens with the weather.
In addition to basketball, the Redhawks’ Academic Decathlon team also had its competition moved to Thursday.
“So, our AcDec competition was originally scheduled for Friday afternoon and then all day Saturday,” Academic Decathlon coach, science teacher Christine Rittenhouse said. “With the potential for snow, our competition has been rescheduled, but we are having to cut some of the subjective events like the interview and like the speech.”
