Frisco City Council Place 1 recount results to be announced Monday

After a special election on Jan. 31 for the Frisco City Council Place 1 seat, candidate Mark Piland filed for a recount of votes. Updated results will be announced on Monday at 5 p.m.

Election results are on hold for the Jan. 31 special election for Frisco City Council Place 1.  

Candidate Mark Piland filed a petition for a recount, and on Feb. 16 the city secretary’s office accepted it with recount results to be posted by 5 p.m. on Monday.

Piland ran against Ann Anderson with Anderson receiving 4,063 votes and Piland receiving 3,953 votes according to results canvassed by the city on Feb. 10.

The special election came as a result of seat holder John Keating announced he was running for Frisco city mayor.

Perry Mellone is in his senior year. He is a member of the Wingspan team as a photographer. Outside of school he sticks to what he knows, taking photos and making films. He attends Elevate Life Church on a weekly basis with his family. For fun he plays basketball, golf, and video games.  After he completes high school he plans to attend the University of Hawaii at Manoa or a school in Los Angeles. For a career he is interested in photography and filmmaking.
