Prom season is officially over, which means no more stressing out about coordinating dinner plans, picture locations, or outfits!
So, in the spirit of passing down some wisdom, here is some advice for tackling prom (as someone who has done it twice).
1) Reserve ahead of time
A lot of my friends had dinner parties with upwards of 10 people, which definitely is not easy for the staff to accommodate on the day of. So, to save everyone involved a headache and not dine too late, make sure to call the restaurant of your choice ahead of time and let them know the party size. Also, if you cancel your reservation for any reason, make sure to call them and let them know!
2) Have a backup plan
Things can always happen; for instance, on our prom day, it rained slightly, so many people moved to an indoor venue for pictures. Make sure you have a backup location in mind so your party isn’t scrambling at the last minute!
3) Make a list of all of the things you need
From buying/making your bouquet to getting your nails done, there are many tiny things involved in prom planning that often go overlooked. So, to ensure your prom day goes as smoothly as possible, make a list of everything you need and keep it somewhere visible so you can always access it and add to it!
4) Don’t stress yourself out
This is definitely the most important one! Don’t stress yourself out with menial things that won’t matter a few weeks down the road. Just focus on being spontaneous, having fun, and enjoying your own prom!
Before I Lea-ve,
Happy prom season! Enjoy it!
