Redhawks interested in earning credit during summer break will be able to sign up for summer courses until May 28.
Students looking to enroll in a summer course must receive approval from their counselor and pay a fee of $275 per semester per course with course fees due May 30.
According to counselor Lanae Rainey, more information is available to students through the counselor newsletter, their student portal, or through a meeting with their counselor.
“So each student’s goals are different,” Rainey said. “If a student is not able to get credit for a course that they are currently taking and it would help them in their situation, they can take that course through Frisco summer school, or other options. Some students are looking to get ahead and while that generally is never required, it is optional.”
The majority of summer courses are offered online through Frisco ISD or as correspondence courses through Texas Tech K-12 or UT High School.
“Taking a summer course, especially this one, is important for me because it’s a pre-requisite for my classes and I wanna become a CNA junior year and that’s gonna really help with my busy schedule,” freshman Ojal Astagiker said.
