Wingspan: What does your typical practice schedule look like ?

Fish: “We start warming up for like 30 minutes and then we go run between six to eight miles and then we cool down for about 15 minutes.”

Wingspan: How do you prepare for a meet?

Fish: “I always have to eat pasta the night before and I always go to bed really early. On meet day I just try and stay focused and mentally prepare myself.”

Wingspan: What’re the common injuries you may get from running? How do you overcome these injuries?

Fish: “I got shin splints last year, that’s like the common injury that I have to deal with. Basically you get them from overuse, running too much, and I just rested until it healed.”

Wingspan: What is the big difference between track and cross country? Which do you prefer and why?

Fish: “Track is running around in circles on concrete and cross country is more terrain. I like cross country better because I like running through forests, running in circles gets boring.”

Wingspan: What keeps you motivated on the days you’re just not feeling it?

Fish: “Honestly my team, we’re so close so it’s so much fun to see all those girls as motivated as you are… Even when I’m not that day”

Wingspan: What would you like to be known for?

Fish: “Being a great leader and someone great to look up to for our future athletes.”

Wingspan: What would you tell someone looking into being in track or cross country?

Fish: “I would tell them to not be scared. There’s always people on your level, whether your super slow or super fast, you’ll always have people to run with.”

Wingspan: What are some challenges you might face while running and how do you overcome them?

Fish: “Injuries and just being tired or grumpy. I over come them by getting a lot of sleep, staying healthy and trying not to get injured.”

Wingspan: How are you planning to pursue this in the future?

Fish: “I plan on running in college, I don’t know where but I really want to run D1 at a big school.”

Wingspan: What’s It like competing with your sister at Lebanon Trail?

Fish: ”We competed against each other in almost every single race, except she runs JV and I run varsity so we don’t really have to compete but we still secretly compete, because we always want to beat each other.”

Wingspan: What’re your goals for state?

Fish: “I really want to place top 10 and as a team I really want us to score top 3 so I can get top medals.”
