Wingspan: When and why did you start running cross country?

Voehringer:  “I started running cross country my junior year. I have always loved running, and Coach Vay and Coach Manning really encouraged me to join the program.”

Wingspan: What is your favorite part about cross country?

Voehringer:  “My favorite part of cross country is getting to hang out with my teammates at practice.”

Wingspan: Who is your biggest inspiration?

Voehringer:  “My biggest inspiration for running is my mom. She used to run during high school, so it’s cool to carry on that legacy.”

Wingspan: Who is your biggest fan?

Voehringer:  “Again, my biggest fan is my mom. She’s goes to every race, and makes sure that I’m prepared headed into a meet.”

Wingspan: How have you been preparing/ practicing?

Voehringer: “We just wrapped up summer training, which consisted of  higher mileage training to build a good base. Now, we are looking to continue to build that endurance and speed at practice each day.”

Wingspan: What is your goal for this season?

Voehringer: “My main goal for this season is to go to state. However, I would also like to take down the school record and leave a legacy here at  Liberty”

Wingspan: What has been your greatest challenge running cross country?

Voehringer: “I would say the biggest challenge I’ve had with cross country is trying to stay injury free and not overworking myself.”
