Wingspan: When and why did you start playing football?
Nickell: “I started playing in sixth grade because I thought football was fun.”
Wingspan: What is your favorite part about football?
Nickell: “My favorite part is how competitive the sport really is.”
Wingspan: Who is your biggest inspiration?
Nickell: “My biggest inspiration is my grandpa, because he set the bar really high for me at a young age.”
Wingspan: How have you been preparing for this season?
Nickell: “We’ve been putting in a lot of hours this summer and dedicating a lot of time and effort towards this season.”
Wingspan: What is your goal this season?
Nickell: “Our goal at the end of the day is to just play better than we did last year.”
Wingspan: Having not won a single game last season, how does the pressure of breaking that streak make you feel?
Nickell: “I wouldn’t say it’s pressure more of just a motivator for all of us to not let that happen again.”
