Volleyball got redemption against Memorial on Friday, putting them 3-0 in the District. “It felt really good to beat Memorial since we lost to them last year,” senior MJ McCurdy said.

Avenging their only District 10-5A loss in 2022, the Redhawks defeated Memorial 3-2 on Friday.

“We learned that we can be really dominant,” head coach Eighmy Dobbins said. “When we’re playing together really well, communicating a lot, and executing our scouting reports. We had two really, really good sets.”

Dobbins believes the win lifted some weight off the athletes’ shoulders.

“It definitely feels good just to kinda be on top of [Memorial],” she said. “I think the girls had been thinking about that loss [last year] for a while, so it feels good to kinda get through it.”

The win also showed just how much the team had improved, senior MJ McCurdy believes.

“It felt really good to beat Memorial since we lost to them last year,” McCurdy said. “We proved to ourselves how good we are this year because they pretty much returned all their players.”
