Frisco ISD is hosting a Find Your Future Night from 6 – 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Lebanon Trail High School to help students explore alternative college paths. The event will be dedicated to showcasing military academies, college Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) programs, and recruiters from each military branch to rising 9th graders and current FISD high school students and parents.

“The goal of [the fair] would be to give students an opportunity to ask questions,” counselor Ryan Kieffer said. “[Ask] about the military, careers in the military, job opportunities, trainings, that kind of thing.”

The speaker and panel conversation will begin at 6 p.m. in the auditorium for students to learn what it takes to join a US Military Academy by speaking to representatives from various college ROTC programs.

Students and parents are also invited to learn more about joining the FISD Navy National Defense Cadet Corp (NNDCC) program and explore opportunities from the various armed forces branches that are housed at Lebanon Trail.

Kieffer hopes that this fair will provide students with more post high school options.

“I’m hopeful that any student who doesn’t have a definitive idea of what they want to do [go],” Kieffer said. “So it’s just another opportunity for students to look at their options post high school.”
