Breaking News: All FISD building closed Friday due to winter weather

On Thursday morning, a snowy visitor pillowed the streets of neighborhoods and roads. Due to these conditions FISD deemed it not safe for instructional buildings to open and canceled school for the following day Friday Jan. 10.

Redhawks woke up to find snow Thursday morning. However, this winter storm will continue into Friday leading Frisco ISD to cancel school on Friday, Jan. 10. Due to inclement weather and poor road conditions, all FISD buildings will be closed for business and instruction. 

The following email communicating this information was sent out to parents Thursday afternoon. 

“Frisco ISD Staff and Parents,

Frisco ISD buildings will be closed for instruction and business on Friday, January 10, 2025, due to anticipated inclement weather and poor road conditions.

Make-up day: Frisco ISD will not need to utilize a bad weather make-up day for Thursday or Friday. 

  • Why? The District can meet the state requirements for minutes of instruction based on our current 2024-25 academic calendar.
