The girls’ basketball team (11-2) lost at home to Memorial (13-0) 45-33 Friday, putting an end to their six-game winning streak. To end the last game before playoffs on a high note, the team hopes to end the regular season with a win when they travel to take on Emerson (8-5) Tuesday at 5:45 p.m.
“I think [Memorial] shot really well, which we didn’t prepare for because last time we played them, their shooting percentage was lower,” junior Natalia Soto said. “So just the fact they were making all their shots [made the game difficult]”
For junior Kai Jackson, successfully executing her specific role on the court is going to be important for the upcoming match against Emerson.
“[What I think is going to be important for the Emerson match is] my scoring percentage, and being effective as my role on the court,” Jackson said.
In the eyes of assistant coach Jayci Morton, though, the Redhawks won’t have to start completely over from scratch.
“Last time we played [Emerson] really well, so we’re going to go in with a similar game plan, and just clean up everything we need to clean up from last time,” Morton said.
