For only the second time in school history, the softball team (11-3) is headed to the playoffs. Up first for the Redhawks is Lone Star Rangers (9-5). The two teams will face off Thursday and Friday at 6:30 p.m. at Independence High School to determine who advances, and if needed a third game will be held Saturday at 12:00 p.m.
“I’m pumped,” head coach Tiffany Thayer said. “Any time I get to coach this group is a gift. We’re taking it one pitch at a time, enjoying the ride, and staying locked in. It’s going to be a fun one!”
Narrowly missing out on the District 11-5A championship, the team is enjoying the moment.
“We can only go up from here,” senior Madison Terry said. “I will be forever grateful to experience history a second time over with my girls and our great coaches.”
