Hoping to turn things around after their 15-0 loss against Memorial on Thursday, the Redhawks baseball team (6-6) hosts Emerson (8-4) Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. with their playoff lives on line as the team sits in a tie with Independence for the fourth and final playoff spot from District 11-5A.
“[We want to] flush what happened Thursday because we know that’s not who we are,” McGarrh said. “And go back to what we do well, which is the small things. The game on Thursday got out of hand in a hurry. So [Tuesday] we have to start fast and if things don’t go our way, we just do what we do and fight back.”
The Redhawks’ best chance at making the playoffs is to win both games against Emerson but the team needs its bats to come alive.
“[A challenge I’m expecting is] definitely pitching,” senior Jackson Pierce said. “Emerson’s pitching is really good.”
