The softball team concluded their regular season with a 7-3 road loss to the Emerson Mavericks Thursday, which also brought the Redhawk’s streaks of seven consecutive wins and four consecutive shutouts to an end.
“As always, the biggest challenge was staying mentally strong,” head coach Tiffany Thayer said. “It all comes down to self-talk and believing in ourselves and each other. Our team mantra is Trust Your Training. They’ve done the work. Now it’s about believing it and showing it.”
For junior Sam Byrnes, it’s all about faith in the team.
“[We knew going in] that Emerson is a tough team to beat, but our Redhawk pride and belief in our team will surely propel to catching a dub [in playoffs],” Byrnes said.
