Placement auditions for the 2025-26 Redhawks marching band take place Wednesday in the band hall.
“I’m just excited for getting next year started,” band associate director of bands Ceceily Yoakam said. “Auditions are always fun because it’s cool to see how people grow, it’s cool to see how the students get better over the course of the year and where they end up getting placed and where things land so it’s a great kick start into next year.”
With most of the year focused on their halftime show for football and UIL competitions, placement auditions are a chance for sophomore Skylar Hubert to show her learning.
“The audition is important to me because it’s a way to learn something that’s typically kind of hard in a shorter amount of time,” Hubert said. “It’s a way to relearn scales and also it allows you to show off what you can do and how good you are at it so you can be put in a band that’s your level.”
