What was supposed to be senior night and the last football game, turned into a rainy night-ending in cancelling the event. To make up for this, band directors arranged a senior redo on the football field on Wednesday.
“The kids had a great time during their rain delay football game but I know that the parents missed out on the opportunity to take that final picture of them in full uniform,” director of bands Ana Hinojosa said. “So this was not for the actual kids, this was for the parents and the opportunity to take that final walk with their child that spent so many hours on the field.”
Even though this event wasn’t what many students had in mind for senior night, it was an appreciated alternative for senior Max Dowd.
“I think that if it didn’t rain [the last football game] it would’ve been the best way to do it; but this was a good alternative,” Dowd said. ”We all got to have more updated looks because we’ve all changed since marching season.”
For band booster president Kelly Kim, what she’ll miss the most is not being able to see both of her kids in the band program.
“[The thing I’m going to miss the most about being a band parent] is having my oldest kid here because we’re going to show up to band stuff for the other [younger kid] and then [my oldest is] going to be gone,” Kim said.
