Redhawks in orchestra take to the stage one last time Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium for their free spring concert, a culmination of months of in-class rehearsals and advisory practices.
“We’re preparing for the spring concert with rehearsals in class and also during advisory,” freshman Aditri Pandey said. “So, we’re getting all the orchestras together, just working with [the] orchestras, and practicing with percussion.”
Unlike most concerts, the spring concert won’t just feature the Redhawk orchestra – the Redhawk band will be accompanying their string-playing counterparts for a few, full orchestra pieces.
To add yet another touch of uniqueness to this concert, orchestra has elected to play a student-led piece for this concert, something that junior Sahana Sethuraman views as the best part of the concert.
“We’re self conducting a piece so that’s really cool, and it sounds really nice,” Sethuraman said. “It’s a tango, so I’m excited for that. And, I’m excited to see the senior piece [be]cause every year the seniors play a piece by themselves at the end of the year.”
