As the end of the school year approaches, students in Jayci Morton’s art class are wrapping up with a Zine project, creating booklets that feature a series of drawings which reflect each student’s favourite hobby, place or event.
“The Zine booklet project just allows students to be creative and kind of tie in things that they’ve learnt throughout the year and tie in their interests and hobbies as well,” Morton said. “It’s more just about letting students be creative and kinda have fun with their last project of the year.”
The freedom to choose whatever topic she wants is something freshman Meghana Burra appreciates.
“I think the final project was really fun to make,” Burra said. “I really liked how my teacher let us be creative and choose any topic that we wanted.”
For students like freshman Akshaya Panguluru, the project had its challenges but was ultimately fun.
“I found it difficult to find images that suited my topic,” Panguluru said. “I chose hobbies and sports and it was hard to draw a few sports but otherwise it was fun.”
