As schools across the district open their doors to students, so too do Frisco Independent School District’s advisory councils. As of Aug 1, all students, parents, staff members, and community stakeholders are invited to apply to FISD’s wide variety of district committees and advisory councils.
Committees open to all members of the community – from students and staff, to parents and taxpayers – include the District Improvement Team, the Legislative Leadership Committee, the Calendars Committee, the Compliance Committee, the School Health Advisory Committee, and the District Library Advisory Committee.
All other committees, including the Gifted & Talented Committee, Career & Technology Education Committee, Safety & Security Committee, and Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council, are open to a more limited range of community members.
On these committees, community members can expect to review and provide feedback and input on various initiatives, goals, services, programs, and projects, as well as participate in various engaging activities and discussions with experts and professionals specific to their committee.
More specific information on individual committee duties, term lengths, and frequency of meetings, as well as application details, can be found on the District Committees website here.
The deadline to submit your application for consideration is midnight on August 31.
