Taking over the reins as the new AP Music Theory teacher and choir director is
Janson Guillen, who recently graduated from Texas Christian University.
“I’m excited to know all the students and get to make good music with great people, which is one of my mottos, so I’m excited to dive into it with all the students,” Guillen said.
In hopes of continuing to make choir as engaging and fun as possible, Guillen has fresh ideas to implement this upcoming school year.
“There is going to be some new stuff we are going to incorporate, hopefully a spring trip down to Grand Prairie to do an epic Water Music festival,” Guillen said. “I know this is a winter extravaganza year, so this will be a big combination of all the fine arts, and I’m excited to be a part of that for the first time.”
Along with Guillen’s arrival comes other changes students like sophomore Zarin Murshed have already noticed.
“We don’t have that many changes yet, but one thing that has changed is just the decorations in the choir room,” Murshed said. “I like how the choir room looks now, it looks kinda similar, but it looks kinda different.”
