To close out non-district play, the volleyball team (18-3) hosted Celina (7-21) at The Nest Friday. The Redhawks won 3-0, outscoring the Bobcats 75-40 across all three sets (25-15, 25-13, 25-12) and clamping down on defense as the match progressed to allow their opponents fewer points from one set to the next.
“We were pretty strong ball control wise, and used all of our offensive options,” head coach Eighmy Dobbins said. “Celina has some strong hitters that can run through the middle so we made sure that we defended the ball well.”
The win boosts the team’s confidence as they prepare for the start of District 11-5A play on Tuesday.
“Getting this win definitely helps our confidence,” opposite hitter, junior Aubrey Pratt said. “We’ve been pretty successful in non-districts and want to continue that moving forwards.”
