After letting a 10-point lead slip away from them in week two, the football team (0-2) hosts the Lovejoy Leopards (1-1) Thursday at 7:00 p.m at Toyota Stadium to open District 4-5A Div. II play.
“The team is excited for the first district game,” assistant coach Cameron Kromis said. “They understand that this is a big opponent and are ready to leave everything on the field. It is difficult to prepare for a Thursday game, but we have created a plan for all facets of the game and are ready for kickoff tonight.”
The first two weeks of the season count for the Redhawks overall record, but the start of district play brings a new level of focus.
“In preparation for districts, we have been focusing on quality on the field along with many reps,” defensive end and tackle, senior Tanush Verma said.
