Cross country is preparing to run at the Lovejoy XC Invitational meet at Myers Park Saturday, the same location as the upcoming District 11-5A Championship meet on Oct. 9.
“We are still working on closing the gap between our 1-7 runners and mentally racing, not just showing up to run,” co-head coach Khera Vay said. “This is a big meet and same venue for our district meet so we have been chatting about course layout and what opportunities it gives for success. “
For sophomore Grace Harris, keeping a clear mindset is key to performing well at the upcoming meet.
“I’ll definitely try to keep a good mindset for tomorrow’s match so I can perform well and focus,” Harris said. “I’m going to try to understand the course so that I can do good at districts.”
