The football team (0-3, 0-1) lost their first District 4-5A Division II game under new head coach Chip Gregory 63-19 to the Lovejoy Leopards (2-1, 1-0) Thursday night at Toyota Stadium.
“We did not fully execute and were not physical enough against Lovejoy,” assistant coach Cameron Kromis said. “We did not play as hard as we could have.”
The outcome of the game was far from what the team wanted, but for quarterback, senior Khi Bunting, the team is sticking together.
“The loss is definitely embarrassing, and it sucks,” Bunting said. “But we are always there for each other, doing a lot of team bonding.”
